Here’s to 2022.

It’s been awhile since we’ve posted to our webpage. With the rise of Facebook, who uses webpages anymore? Since our last post, some things happened. In November 2020, we lost our clubhouse to a tremendous fire. Through this year, our Board and other volunteers have worked tirelessly to rebuild with an eye to the future. We are glad to say that the building is now complete and we are stoked for 2022. We’ve got a brand spanking new Clubcar fleet, we’ve still got lush grass everywhere and our Clubhouse is tight. How about a visit to GCCC in 2022 to see what Central Kentucky’s Premier Nine Hole Golf Experience is about?

Last year, a prediction was made that 2019 was going to be the best year ever.  Indeed it was pretty good.  It was also predicted that Tiger would win another major and we know how that turned out.

This year is going to be HOT.  GCCC installed new fairways last fall.  Today is January 15 and they are green as gourds.  We just replaced our entire rental cart fleet.  Fourteen EZGO’s will be delivered any day now, compliments of our friends at AutoSmart in Campbellsville.  New grass.  New carts.  Ultimate experience.

Why don’t you come on out to Green County Country Club and see what’s happening?  We’ve got great food with the Broken Tee, great drinks at the Back Porch and central Kentucky’s premier nine hole golf experience.  HOT.

WHAT is “Scrambled Eggs”?         “Scrambled Eggs” is a 9 hole scramble with four players per team (A, B, C and D players).  Each player shall be assigned a handicap and the teams shall be generated by random computer drawing.  Lowest score wins the regular scramble, ties will be determined by playoff.

HOW much does it cost to play?  $13.00 per person.

WHEN does it start?           “Scrambled Eggs” begins April 18, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Central, and thereafter every Thursday.  You must have your name submitted no later than 4:45 p.m.

HOW is this different from your average scramble?   The difference is that this scramble has two chances for winning.  Not only can your team win the regular scramble portion, you now have an opportunity to win the “Scrambled Eggs.”

Out of the $13.00 entry fee, $10.00 is allocated to the usual scramble pot.  The other $3.00 is allocated to the Scrambled Eggs.  To win the Scrambled Eggs cash, a team must score more “eggs” (similar to “skins” in other games) than any other team.  A simple demonstration:

Under this scenario, the Purple team wins the scramble, but the Red team won the Scrambled Eggs.

HOW much can I win?       This question is always dependent upon how many of your buddies you can get to play.  With the above demonstration, if there were 20 players contributing $10.00 apiece the total regular scramble pot would be $200.00.  The winning team of the usual scramble receives 60% of the usual scramble pot or $120.00.    Second place gets their entry fee returned or $40.00, leaving $40.00 for the club.  The winning team of the Scrambled Eggs receives the entire egg pot of $60.00.  However, if no team scores more “eggs” than any other team, the Scrambled Egg pot rolls over into the next week.  More often than not, there will be a “Scrambled Egg” carryover—think how big the Egg pot could get!!

On September 5, the player with the most Eggs for the season will be awarded $250.00 courtesy of FORCHT BANK of Greensburg, Kentucky.
